Creative Writing at BMCAC
Creative writing – “Getting it Down” ( Thursday evenings 7.00 – 9.00, 8 weeks, $120)
“Art is not about thinking something up. It is about the opposite – getting something down.” Julia Cameron, The Artist’s Way
Know you’ve got a book or short story in you, but you can’t seem to get started? Turn your yearning into practical learning with local novelist, Janet Fennell, whose routines and readings, exercises and targeted advice will enhance your creative capacity and get you writing. Learn about where to begin, and how to keep going, what makes great prose, and how craft enhances art. Cultivate a writer’s temperament, develop a productive writing routine, replace procrastination with ‘habits of strength’, and master the technical ‘tricks of the trade’ while also having your questions answered about publishing, agents, self-promotion and more.
Janet has an MA in writing and is an experienced teacher and author. Suitable for new and emerging writers interested in fiction, and literary non-fiction. (Biography, personal essay, memoir etc.)
For a course outline/flyer and further information contact Janet on Tel. 4782 9039
